Trying to use verdana font on a debian-testing distribution. I run with a resolution of 1152x768. xdpyinfo report a resolution of 96x96 dpi.

So, under kde I changed the font to verdana 12 and disable anti aliasing (looks bad / makes me sick). Unfortunatly the rendering looks very very bad:

Playing with freetype font viewer (ftview) I managed to get two interesting outputs. I used ftview with -r 96 parameter so it knows I want a 96dpi rendering. I also disabled anti aliasing, set the font to verdana with a size of 12.

When glyphhinting is ignored (press h):

Now activates it:

Wonderfull ! That's the result I am expecting in kde. Problem is I have no clue how to set it like above :(

Some informations:
I configured the font using 'dpkg-reconfigure fontconfig' using 'native', 'never' uses subpixel and did not enable bitmapped fonts ('no').
